For our Detroit trip, we stayed right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of many major attractions, including sports venues and the historic Fox Theater.
Our first stop was the Eastern Market, one of the oldest farmers’ markets in the country, dating back to 1891. Each Saturday, the market fills with food, flowers, vegetables, and everything fresh. On Sundays, the market features local artisans, with art, jewelry, pottery, and other goods.
Since there are so many things to do in Detroit, we decided to just grab a quick bite from the hotel before setting out again.
We hopped on the Q Line and rode along the scenic Woodward Avenue to visit one of Detroit’s most famous attractions, the Detroit Institute of Arts, one of the best art museums in the country.
